Excellent value hotel. Thanks to the Expedia VIP program, I was upgraded to a room with a washer/dryer, which was extremely convenient. The room was clean and spacious and also included a full kitchen. The location was very nice and close to the Chidlom BTS as well as several restaurants, coffee shops, shopping centers, etc. The breakfast was incredible — better than some of the 5-star hotels I stayed at. The service went above and beyond — they organized my messy pile of clothes.

This place was perfect for us. Great location, very very very (add one more ‘very’) nice and happy staff, very good breakfast with great variety, easy access to the public transport, big rooms, good gym and a beautiful outdoor pool. We loved our stay at this hotel. Every evening after returning to the hotel, my kids would want to play in the pool despite being tired. Hassle free internet.

As the hotel is located in the central and old part of the city on a busy commercial street, a walk down the street gave me a good idea about the people/culture of Bangkok. Lovely, happy people! Amazing street food (I stuck to the fruit and veggies only)! I had an incredible experience just walking down the busy streets full of street vendors and the locals. It was an unforgettable experience.

I would rate this as a 5-star stay.

In early January I stayed for a night in this hotel as my preferred hotel was fully booked. I was delighted with my stay. The room was very comfortable and well furnished with nice interior design touches making it all the more pleasant. The small kitchenette was functional and a great addition. Had I stayed longer I would have made better use of it. In the last I have stayed at other Centre Point properties and was not impressed but if they have been upgraded to the same standard as this one, then I might try them again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a king-sized bed as they are very comfortable.

Lumpini Park is an inner-city haven of tranquility, fresh air and shade – offering city dwellers the perfect connection to nature. Named after the birthplace of the Lord Buddha in Nepal, the park is more than half a million square kilometres big, and the habitat of various flora and fauna.

Historically, it dates back to the 1920s and was set to be an exhibition centre for Thai crafts and flower displays. Although this original vision was never fulfilled, Lumpini Park has over the years grown into the endearing centre for outdoor leisure activities for Bangkok residents, who would convene before and after sunset to enjoy a round of jog, light workout, aerobics and a host of other recreational activities.

Lumpini Park appeals to people of all ages today. The park is home to ever rarer indigenous flora, a forest park, and some quirky residents like the water monitor lizards… Looming beyond the immediate green, glimmering city skyscrapers punctuate the scene.
