We stayed in the one bedroom suite with one extra bed in the living room for our son. It was an amazing experience. You are in the heart of city with complimentary tuk tuk service to the Sukhumvit road some 200 m away. They also have shuttle bus service at fixed hours to Terminal 21 and Asok BTS. Yet the locality is very quiet.

The hotel was very clean, quiet and had everything besides the usual including assorted wine glasses, washing machine, crockery and cutlery . It was very spacious and from the balcony we could see the city. The staff were extremely courteous and knew English. Breakfast spread was massive including various choice of oriental dishes in addition to the array hot and cold counters. The only negetive point I could think up was that the TV reception was grainy. Must repeat a stay there.

centrepoint.com/hotel/products.aspx?branch_id=4 -We reached this hotel in March 2013 after a fairly long overnight flight (and a 1.5 hr process getting the visa). The hotel is at walking distance from the Chidlom BTS station and have a complimentary Tuk-Tuk service for pick up. The front desk staff is genuine and while you wait for the check-in formalities, there is a self-service for iced-tea and some snacks. That’s was really a refreshing after a long flight. Also the free WI-fi is damn helpful to book trips, check mails and stay connected.

We had booked a superior double room – rooms were modern, comfortable and kitchenette included a microwave, washer and dryer. the bathroom is lavish with a bathtub and a touch-screen operated toilet (talk of snoot value). the toiletries were high grade and the cleanliness was spot-on The BTS will take you to most of the talked about malls including the Central (at chid lom itself) and the Paragon mall, HBK mall etc

Buffet spread was excellent with lots of variety including local and international selections. They will also take orders for eggs, pancakes and waffles. There are also a number of eateries on the way from Chid Lom BTS to the hotel which stay open till midnight and have italian, indian and thai options. There is a bank right opposite if u have FOREX to be handled. Also a park within walking distance (5 mins) if u want to run/jog. The hotel itself has a very well equipped gym. They have an indoor salt-water pool and a pretty good sauna facility.

Definitely value for your money

Room Tip: Rooms in 10 floor and above have a great view from window. Take street facing room.

The hotel is well equipped as a base for city tours, very close to the river boat pier and convenient for the number 1 bus to Chinatown so no real need for taxi. If you are using a taxi from airport – good luck; ours got lost close to the hotel – we could see it and spent time driving aimlessly until directed from another hotel! Greatest asset is a good size swimming pool, perfect for between sightseeing dips. Breakfast is varied and served in a sunny pleasant dining room. We didn’t eat there but menu looked good. Don’t worry about lack of a rooftop bar just visit the Shangi-la river side bar 100m away; what you save on their room rates will buy a few cocktails.
